Sunflower Poster

At first, I wasn't so sure this project would go so well, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out! I knew I wanted the sunflower to stand out which is why I chose a simpler zentagle pattern for the background. Then, I wanted to keep the flower somewhat realistic which is also why I chose a simpler pattern for the inside of the sunflower. It took me a long time to find a zentalge pattern of the petals, but I found one that would added a flowy feel to the poster. I made my color scheme decision based on the quote I found by William Cullen Bryant. The sunflower stands out by putting opacity on the background of the brook which is symbolized by the blue, and the orangish color that symbolizes autumn. I kept my texture simple for this poster. By this point, I have learned that my style is simple. I love how beautiful simplicity can make things look.

Conservation Poster

Here is my Conservation Poster! I chose to spread awareness about the importance of conserving water. As I was doing research, the idea of taking advantage of the rain water we get in Portland came to my mind, and I loved it! Therefore, with this poster, I want to give that idea to the rest of the Portlandians. I went with a simple style for the poster since it is about conservation which reflects the idea of saving. I also used analogous colors again, but this time blue to reflect the Portland feel of rain. Take advantage of the rain Portlandians! :)

Shopping Bag

This has been my favorite project so far! I created a Shopping Bag for a company I invented named Bumps. They sell signature headphones that come in the colors shown. When a customer buys a pair of headphones, they will get a shopping bag in the headphone color they bought and the shopping bag looks like he or she is caring headphones!

Bird Project

Here is my Bird Project! I chose a Peacock for my bird because it represents my personality. When the peacock needs to be quiet and mind its own business it is normal, but it opens it's feathers and tail when it needs to. I also chose four analogous colors on the color wheel, starting from orange to yellow. The colors also represent my personality as happy, energetic, and cheerful :) I explored the four parts of the peacock, the head, feet, bottom of its opened tail and the middle body, and the pattern of its feathers. Happy peek-ocking!

Identity Package

Yay! Another finished assignment. This past four day weekend has been really productive and I dedicated half of it to AP Art :) I have a few other nearly completed assignments that I'll be posting within the next week as well. On this project note, I am happy with the way my Identity Package (which includes a business card, letterhead, envelope and monogram) expresses my tastes. It is clean and simple with just a little of intricacy by the three lines. I have learned that the lines really clean up a product and add attractiveness. Then, purple and light green are my favorite colors but I chose these two shades so they compliment each other and the product. And for some reason I have been getting into gray which is why I chose it for the text color and a brownish gray for the accent color.
 

Paper Bag

Well I finally finished one of the first real projects. We chose a poem by Edgar Allan Poe or Maya Angelou to Sharpie onto a paper bag and then use any art supplies to apply our ideas. I chose the poem, Insomniac by Maya Angelou. I thought it related well with this class haha. But after adding layers of paint, ink, charcoal, color pencil, sharpie, and string this is my finished product! Oh and by the way, the Summer Assignments will be coming in the next few months..
